William Penny

Hello! My name is William Kevin Penny and I am a Canadian living in Setagaya, Tokyo. I graduated from schools in both Canada and England and have taught English at the university level for more than thirteen years. My interests are reading, creative writing, skiing, and painting.

From my past experience teaching English as a Foreign Language I have learned that assisting students with their learning can be very rewarding. But I have also learned that it is a two-way street. The learners who are most successful are the ones who decide that their objective is to improve their English using all of their energy. They attend class, they participate in activities, and they complete the assigned homework. Test preparation is also an important part of the Practical English Curriculum. However, building your language skills involves a much bigger commitment: practicing your English everyday through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

The Practical English Center and its Instructors are here to help you. Let’s enjoy learning English together!!
