Hayley MacCallum

Hi, I'm Hayley MacCallum and I'm from the UK. Before becoming a teacher I was a nurse for 9 years working in various departments, but I spent most of that time working in the Emergency Department. 

I decided to go back to university and change my career, and my life. I studied to become a teacher and learnt Japanese, spending one year of that time living in Osaka and studying Japanese at a Japanese university.

I've previously taught in the UK and Saudi Arabia before spending a year doing a Masters in Applied Linguistics in the UK.

I arrived in Japan in 2017 and look forward to spending many years here. My special interests are Medical English and English as a Lingua Franca.

In my spare time I love watching movies, travelling, and meeting new people.

 

Fun fact: I am not a normal British person because I don't drink tea.
