Yokohama City University's International Affairs Office is committed to promoting student exchange, lending a helping hand to both outbound and inbound exchange students who wish to participate in this excellent opportunity to gain international experience.
 
If you wish to apply to come to Yokohama City University as an exchange student, please note that your first point of contact should be your home institution's international/exchange office. You will need an official nomination from your institution's international/exchange office, as direct applications from students will not be accepted.

Credits & Workload

1 credit represents 45 hours of study (including self-study).
 
Comprising of this 45 hours are the following;
  • A lecture course should make up a total of 15 contact hours, with the remaining 30 hours dedicated to self-study.
  • Experiments, practical training and language courses should make up a total of 30 contact hours, with the remaining 15 hours dedicated to self-study.

In the case where your Japanese level is not sufficient for taking courses in Japanese, you may choose courses taught in English from the following list:
 
TOEFL iBT 61 or higher is recommended (Considerations will be made depending on the case with the home university’s recommendation).
