About SPRING
What is SPRING Program?
SPRING is a national program launched in April 2024 under the name of "Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING)." The former program provided support to doctoral students for three years.
Support for Doctoral Programs – Background
We applied for the "University Fellowship Creation Project for the Creation of Science and Technology Innovation (Fellowship)" desigred to support doctoral students by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in FY2020, and our program "Fellowship for Innovative Students with Data Thinking" was adopted in February 2021. In FY2023, the MEXT's two programs ,nanely the Fellowship and the "Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING)" were integrated and its manegement was transferred to the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) as the "same name program (SPRING)." We applied for the JST's SPRING and our program "Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING)" was adopted in March 2024.
