SUMMARY

With the Graduate School of International Management as the primary host, the 7th Yokohama City University Science Summer Program 2015 was held from Tuesday, July 14 through Saturday, July 18, using the Kanazawa Hakkei Campus as its main venue. The program was designed to provide students participating from overseas with an opportunity to discover Yokohama, a fascinating international city, from an academic research/educational and industrial perspectives, as well as to provide YCU students with a chance to nurture their abilities to adapt to the global society through discussions and other cross-cultural communication with international students. Another objective of this program was to develop and expand a global network among not only cities but also researchers and students of different countries.<br>

This year, thirteen graduate and undergraduate students from overseas universities in addition to some fifty YCU graduate and undergraduate students participated in this program. Students studying in Asia joined YCU students to expand their knowledge on the “future” of sustainability and innovation management beyond borders. The program consisted of student-lead discussions and presentations, as well as lectures on various topics including service science, political and economic trends in Asia, biotechnology, green innovation, corporate global strategies and environmental activities, and exchanges among students in Asia.
