【DAY 1 (July 14, 2015)】

Excursion (Yokohama Minato Mirai 21)

To mark the start of the program, participants took part in the annual icebreaker excursion to Yokohama Minato Mirai 21.

From the Sakuragicho Station, we took the "Akai Kutsu (Red Shoes) bus" to Yamashita Park while watching the Red Brick Warehouse and China Town passing by from the window. After taking a stroll in the Yamashita Park, we moved to the Osanbashi to enjoy Yokohama's oceanic scenery. For lunch, we indulged in cuisines from all over the world at restaurant Port Terrace Cafe, located inside the Yokohama office of JICA.

Blessed with the early summer sunshine despite the excursion taking place during the rainy season, we all had a great time getting to know each other. We believe that the excursion was not only a trigger for promoting smooth interaction for the Science Summer Project, but also an opportunity for participants to discover the fascinating international city of Yokohama.
