International Business and Economics
Education for Policy Planning, Proposals and Implementation
Course Summary/Features
The aim of the Public Policy and Management course is to prepare students to be able to devise public and private sector policy plans and proposals, and to achieve implementation. Related fields of study are primarily economics and law, but we recommend that students study many subjects in a wide range of disciplines within the division, as well as management and accounting. The Division of Economics and Business Administration has two courses, and this course of study is for those who are interested in public policy and leads to the acquisition of a B.A. in economics. The curriculum is not limited to the ties we, as a public university, naturally maintain with Yokohama's municipal government, but is carefully designed to enable acquisition of suitable abilities for broad, generalized involvement in the public sector. A particular feature of this program is that, while covering established disciplines such as economics and law, it allows for studies in the public management sector as well as public policy.
