1. To examine one’s experience of learning foreign languages and to give meaning to it.
2. To discuss English teaching from elementary school days and consider improvements in foreign language teaching methods.
3. To understand problems in pronunciation and listening encountered by Japanese people and consider the meaning of English as a global language.
Course outlineOutline of the lecture
The two lecturers will explain the mechanisms of language development, as well as the state and problems of foreign language learning from the perspective of psychology and English teaching. Participants will review the process of their foreign language learning and consider the development of language and foreign language teaching through discussions. Although the language used for the lectures will include English, all the lectures will be explained in Japanese. Those having difficulties in learning foreign languages and dislike English are welcome. Let’s think together if English is necessary or not.
