Course goalsThis is a class in which students will improve their ability to build clear, logical arguments in English while debating global issues.
Course outlineCOURSE CONTENT:
-Issues-based classes: debate topics cover a variety of interesting current issues to build a wide range of vocabulary and expressions.
-Debate issues are selected by the teacher, and later in the course by the students. We start with easy issues, and finish the course with more challenging global issues?
-The main focus is on speaking, listening and note-taking in small groups?
-Students learn (a) what debate is (b) the structures of debate (c) key phrases used in debate

COURSE AIMS:
1. To improve the ability to create argument headings
2. To improve the ability to build simple, clear, logical arguments
3. To learn note-taking skills for writing debate arguments while listening
4. To build vocabulary on a wide range of current debate topics and global issues
